About Placencia
Getting to Placencia from Belize City, the International Airport or San Ignacio can be done by taking a domestic flight, renting a car, or a private or shared shuttle. The Drive time is approximately three and a half (3.5) hours to (4) hours using ground transportation and about an hour by air. The chicken buses are not recommended for this transfer.

Placencia FAQ's
The most economical option is to take a bus from Belize City to Placencia. There are two buses that run this route daily, the last leaving at 12:00 PM, so be aware of the schedule if you’re flying in on the same day that you want to travel to Placencia. The journey takes about 3 hours. However, the most affordable & safest way is by ground shuttle. BZ Shuttle Services can transfer you to anywhere in Placencia.
- Bicycle – Your best option for getting around Placencia (other than walking) is to rent a bike for about 20 BZD ($10 USD) per day.
- Golf Cart – You can also rent golf cart.
- Taxi – A taxi around the town shouldn’t cost more than 5 BZD ($2.50 USD) per person.
